DESCRIPTION: APW - Howard Keystone, 17J, 12S, 14K gold original Howard clamshell style swingout case, "J E J" initials to rear, signature ring inside rear as well as engraving "Masters and Marine Engineers to Lt. J.E. Jones U.S.N. Canal Zone May 1924," white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, nickel-plated train wheels, nickel damascene, s#1324966. Comes with an associated Howard wooden box with tattered remains of certificate for a different watch. Gross weight of assembled watch 37.1 dwt (57.7 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, virtually mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, essentially pristine surfaces with some mild surface dirtiness; virtually flawless dial with minuscule fine scratch at edge near 1; nearly mint hands; case shows hardly any wear, some small scratches to edge adjacent opening lip of bezel, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; plastic crystal with glue excess at its seat is lifting up slightly from bezel at lower right, watch would benefit from its replacement by a properly sized glass crystal. Box in fine cosmetic condition with some dings, scrapes and scratches to exterior; certificate with serial numbers for a differing watch is torn and incomplete.
